I accidentally deleted a TPL file but I still have the compiled file that is in the templates_c directory. I was wondering if there was a way to uncompile it back to a tpl file? Or am I going to have to code the sucker from scratch?

Never heard of smarty template decompiler.

As I used to work for hundreds of people, it happened once with one client, also happened with one of my own template file so I removed it accidentaly.
And same as you I luckily found it as cached template.
So with my experience I was able to restore it manually 100%.

But...
It is highly suggested to backup at least all main directory php files and tpl files in templates folder.

Would you be able to do it for me? How much would you charge?

Im' rather not interested.
Usually this is long time manual job.
Not enough profitable for me, too much for client... until this is really serious thing.
Anyway my rates is USD 20.00/hour (if I have a time)
